We are searching for an experienced cybersecurity professional ready to enhance our cybersecurity operations. In this pivotal role, you will conduct advanced system hardening, vulnerability assessment, and security compliance activities in line with Department of Defense (DoD) standards. If you have a solid foundation in cybersecurity practices and are experienced in managing both Linux and Windows environments within DoD networks, we want to hear from you! This position is contingent upon contract award, expected in October 2026. Security Clearance: An ACTIVE Secret clearance (IT Level II Tier 5 / Special-Sensitive Position) is required. Selected applicants will undergo a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. US Citizenship is necessary for clearance eligibility. Responsibilities: Create Assessment and Authorization (A&A) packages for diverse systems. Develop and maintain essential security documentation including: Authorization Boundary Diagram System Hardware/Software/Information Flow System Security Plan Privacy Impact Assessment e-Authentication Plan Implementation Plan System Level Continuous Monitoring Plan Ports, Protocols, and Services Registration Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) Conduct annual FISMA assessments. Implement Continuous Monitoring for Authorized Systems. Generate and update test plans; conduct testing of system components using Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) tool, apply Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG), and perform Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM) reviews. Execute automated ACAS scanning, STIG, and SCAP checks (Evaluate STIG, Tenable Nessus, etc.) on standalone and networked systems. Analyze cybersecurity test scan results and assist in documenting open findings in the Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M). Review DISA Security Technical Implementation Guide test results and help document findings in the Plan of Action and Milestones. Requirements: Comprehensive understanding of computer security, military system specifications, and DoD cybersecurity policies. Effective communication skills, both written and spoken. Possess one of the following DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level III baseline certifications: CASS+ CE CCNP Security CISA CISSP (Associate) CISSP GCED GCIH CCSP Preferred Experience: A minimum of ten (10) years in computer security, military system specifications, and DoD cybersecurity policies. Familiarity with National Cyber Range Complex (NCRC) Total Ship Computing Environment (TSCE) Program. Experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF) and boundary defense techniques, utilizing tools like Firewalls, IDS, IPS, and others. Experience in implementing STIGs and conducting vulnerability assessments with ACAS. Skills in remediating vulnerability findings, including applying vendor patches for both Linux and Windows systems. Education: A Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering is required. Compensation: At SimVentions, we value our team! The projected annual compensation for this role ranges from $90,000 to $160,000 USD, based on experience, education, and alignment with our corporate compensation plan.
