Compensation and Schedule Details Touring Driver Pay: Starts at $1,800/week on tour, with potential earnings reaching up to $2,500/week as you take on more duties. Regional Freight Compensation: Average $1,475/week (mileage-based) during off-tour periods. Note: All drivers begin with Averitt's regional division for the first 30 days (mileage-based pay). Transition to touring assignments and salary-based pay occurs after transfer approval. Touring Driver Schedule: Tour Season: March-October – Tours can extend for weeks at a time, with limited home time unless routes are close to your base. Off-Season: November-February – Drivers typically operate regional, no-touch freight to ensure steady income. Your Key Responsibilities: Safely transport staging, lighting, and production equipment for significant live events. Assist with loading/unloading and securely fastening equipment. Navigate into tight or unconventional venues safely. Drive mainly at night to meet strict delivery schedules. Driver Highlights: Prepare for overnight driving to meet event deadlines. Commit to completing the entire tour or production run once assigned. Routes cover the U.S. and Canada (passport required; Averitt will reimburse if necessary). CDL-A Touring Driver Requirements: A minimum of 30 days driving experience with Averitt is required before applying for a position in Production and Event operations. Must be 21 years of age or older. Hold a Class A CDL and be willing to obtain a Hazmat endorsement. Flatbed certification is required (training provided). A valid passport for Canada tours is necessary (Averitt will reimburse if needed). At least 1 year of verifiable tractor-trailer experience in the last 3 years. Entertainment/touring driving experience is preferred but not mandatory. No reckless driving convictions within the past 5 years. No DUI or DWI convictions within the last 5 years. No suspensions or revocations for moving violations in the last 5 years. No serious violations in the previous 12 months (such as committing serious traffic offenses in CMVs). No more than 3 moving violations in the past 3 years. No preventable DOT recordable accidents in the last 3 years. Essential Functions: Drive responsibly and prioritize safety. Handle trailer doors (46 lbs force requirement). Accurately count freight. Complete fuel tickets correctly. Hook/unhook trailer (90 lbs force requirement). Conduct thorough pre-trip inspections. Manage extensive travel, with the ability to sit upright for prolonged durations. Move freight as required (54 lbs force requirement). Maintain regular, reliable attendance. Enter/exit a Commercial Motor Vehicle safely. Access the rear of a trailer from ground level.
