Foundation Summary The Robert R. Cantigny Park is home to the McCormick House, First Division Museum, formal gardens, picnic grounds, and walking trails. Cantigny is host to numerous special events, concerts, weddings, garden tours, museum tours, lectures, horticulture workshops, fitness classes, and more throughout the year. Position Summary The Security Officer ensures the security and safety of the staff and visitors, and the physical assets of Cantigny Park. They achieve a high level of service as a main point of contact for Cantigny guests and act as a problem solver, in a professional and calm manner, resolving any quest concerns. Essential Functions 1. Work at the Security Operations Desk. Monitor the security cameras. Monitor the communications equipment and enter building openings and closings on the Building Checklist. Document daily duties on the Shift Report to include but not limited to shift start and end times, patrol locations, incidents, alarms, booth assignments and lunch breaks. Answer the Cantigny main line in the absence of the Reservations Specialist. Be knowledgeable in a wide range of information regarding Cantigny Park to relay accurate and timely information for visitor inquiries. Greet cars entering the Private Drive. Collect and store lost and found. Log items into the lost and found log. 2. Accurately recording attendance data. 3. Respond to emergency calls to include but not limited to First Aid, CPR, Fire and Burglar Alarms and Suspicious/Difficult guests. Follow established procedures while coordinating with staff and emergency services. 4. Patrol on foot and in vehicles in all weather conditions. Make continual security and safety checks of all facilities and grounds using the Tour Guard device and report all findings to the operations officer. 5. Respond to staff and visitor assistance calls to include building access, vehicle escorts, first aid, and motorist assist. With diplomacy and kindness, enforce all Cantigny rules and regulations. 6. Use established crowd control and parking procedures when required. Assist in setting up overflow parking, put out cones and signage as needed. Use proper safety equipment when directing crowds and traffic in, around and out of the park. 7. Park cleanliness up to and including maintaining clean workspaces, storage spaces and picking up loose garbage while on patrol in the park. Requirements Minimum Qualifications:Education: High School Diploma or GED Experience: 1-3 years of experience, preferably. Skills: Strong interpersonal skills and customer service orientation, including willingness to interact with groups of visitors. Able to work weekends and select holidays. Detail-oriented, inquisitive, and thoughtful. Team player, with the ability to work independently when needed.
