Role Summary: The Manager, Privacy Operations for Healthcare Providers will act as a pivotal privacy and compliance leader within Datavant's Provider division. Reporting to the Vice President of Provider Privacy Compliance & Strategy, this role will manage a dedicated team of Privacy Analysts focused on embedding privacy, data protection, and compliance standards in daily operations. In this position, you will combine your leadership skills, customer engagement ability, and operational oversight to serve as the key privacy partner for the Provider Operations team. You will oversee the execution of privacy incident management and compliance processes, ensuring consistency across operational units. Collaboration with cross-functional teams such as Legal, Operations, and Security will be crucial to supporting risk mitigation, training, and adherence to regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of healthcare privacy law, exceptional communication and presentation skills, excellent organizational and analytical capabilities, and a firm commitment to fostering an environment of compliance and privacy excellence. Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Team Management Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Privacy Analysts, fostering a culture of accountability and professional growth. Manage workload and performance metrics to ensure high-quality, timely resolutions of privacy matters. Encourage continuous learning through coaching and participation in Datavant's compliance training and development programs. Operational Privacy Oversight Provide day-to-day leadership in privacy compliance including incident management and customer support. Review and approve investigations of privacy incidents, ensuring regulatory alignment. Identify trends and risks, developing corrective action plans as needed. Support the creation and standardization of policies and privacy controls aligned with compliance frameworks. Customer and Partner Engagement Act as the primary privacy liaison for Provider Operations and customers, leading discussions and addressing escalations (minimum 30% travel expected). Manage follow-up actions from privacy incident reports and regulator inquiries. Represent Datavant at regional conferences, customer meetings, and educational forums (minimum 30% travel expected). Cross-Functional Collaboration Work with Legal, Security, and Provider Operations to align privacy practices with compliance standards. Support the implementation of privacy strategies across Provider Operations. Provide insight for new products, processes, and customer requests related to privacy compliance. Program Development & Reporting Create targeted privacy education sessions tailored to operational and customer needs. Oversee privacy incident tracking and reporting; present findings to compliance leadership. Contribute data-driven recommendations to quarterly business reviews and compliance reports. Ensure accurate handling of HIPAA incidents and privacy matters by mentoring Privacy Analysts. Monitor trends in incidents to identify risks and recommend proactive measures. Support regional privacy audits in partnership with Internal Audit and Compliance teams. Assist in managing communications with customers and regulatory authorities as needed. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, or a related field. 6+ years in healthcare compliance, privacy, or information governance. 3+ years in a leadership or team management role. Strong knowledge of HIPAA, HITECH, and related privacy laws. Experience overseeing privacy incident investigations. Proficiency in privacy incident tracking and reporting tools. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong ethical judgment and attention to detail. Willingness to travel up to 30%. Desired Qualifications: Master's degree in Health Information Management or Healthcare Compliance. Professional certifications (CIPP/US, CHPC, etc.) Experience in healthcare technology or health data interoperability. Familiarity with privacy-by-design frameworks. Experience with internal audit or regulatory compliance. Strong skills in developing and delivering privacy training. Ability to build relationships across functions and levels. The estimated total cash compensation range for this role is $130,000-$165,000 USD.
