Description Assess patients across all age groups using a mix of standardized assessments and observational methods. Create tailored treatment plans that cater to immediate and lasting communication, cognitive, or swallowing challenges. Deliver focused, evidence-based speech therapy interventions that encompass communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing therapy. Work collaboratively with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, caregivers, and family members to devise comprehensive care strategies. Engage in educational endeavors with both patients and families to support continued progress beyond therapy sessions. Participate in infrequent inpatient evaluations and interventions to ensure seamless continuity of care throughout treatment. Document patient progress and therapeutic activities accurately, adhering to all state, federal, and institutional regulations. Commit to professional growth by staying informed about the latest advancements in speech-language pathology through continuing education programs and peer collaboration. Education Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Successful completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if certification from ASHA has not yet been achieved. Certifications State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required to be acquired within thirty days of hiring. Skills Deep understanding of evidence-based treatment modalities for a variety of ages, alongside a strong foundation in recognizing developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders. Outstanding communication skills for engaging with patients, their families, and interdisciplinary teams. Ability to customize therapy approaches to respect diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Exceptional clinical judgment coupled with effective problem-solving capabilities.
