How does this role contribute to First Command? The Business Banking Consultant plays a crucial role as a primary contact for business clients, delivering tailored financial solutions and consultative support through various channels. This position is focused on establishing new client relationships and enhancing existing partnerships by presenting First Command's suite of business banking and treasury management services to small business owners. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with internal teams including Financial Advisors, Client Services, Lending, and Operations, to deliver holistic financial solutions that address the evolving needs of business clients. Emphasizing exceptional customer service and operational efficiency, the Business Banking Consultant will demonstrate a robust understanding of business banking products and processes. What will you do in this role? Serve as the lead relationship manager for business clients, providing expert guidance and timely solutions for their banking and treasury needs. Oversee the onboarding process for new business clients, ensuring a seamless transition while helping them select the banking products and services that align with their operational goals. Address and resolve client inquiries and requests with professionalism, accuracy, and urgency. Identify opportunities for cross-selling and upselling financial products and services that support clients' long-term objectives. Collaborate closely with internal teams to deliver integrated financial solutions that enhance the overall client experience. Maintain detailed records of client interactions and activities in the CRM system to ensure continuity and compliance. Stay informed on industry trends, regulations, and product enhancements to better serve business clients. Strengthen relationships with business owners by leveraging the full range of First Command's offerings, positioning the bank as a trusted financial partner. Ensure operational excellence and compliance by working with Quality Control, Internal Audit, Legal, and Compliance teams. Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and implementing process efficiencies and service enhancements. Develop cross-functional proficiency within the Personal Banking Department to provide seamless support as needed. What skills & qualifications do you need? Education Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field is preferred. Work Experience 3-5 years of practical experience with Jack Henry systems, particularly Silverlake and the Banno Business Banking platform. 3-5 years of experience in business banking or treasury management, demonstrating the capability to provide tailored financial solutions to commercial clients. 3-5 years of experience with digital banking platforms, focused on digital onboarding and optimizing the client experience. 2+ years of experience in bank operations or contact center settings within a complex financial institution is preferred. Experience partnering with internal stakeholders to streamline processes and enhance digital banking features. Certifications Relevant certifications in Treasury Management, Commercial Banking, or Digital Banking Operations are advantageous. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities A strong passion for serving the military community and addressing their specific business banking needs. Proficiency in Jack Henry applications, including Banno Business Banking, Silverlake Core, and Treasury Management modules. Comprehensive understanding of business entity structures and required legal documentation for effective business account management. In-depth knowledge of business banking regulations, treasury management practices, and compliance requirements at both state and federal levels. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate system integrations and support digital process enhancements. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating a proven ability to build strong relationships with clients and internal teams.
