Maintenance Technician

Job Title: Maintenance Technician III Location: Troy, AL SUMMARY/ OBJECTIVE The position of Maintenance Technician 3 is the primary person responsible for day-to-day Maintenance and Reliability activities for the Facility. This position shall primarily handle all Preventive, Predictive and Corrective maintenance activities, with a focus on improving machine and equipment availability. The Maintenance Technician 3 should have good listening and customer service skills to be able to build trust with the Operations departments to find the Root Cause of reactive maintenance issues. The individual must have excellent technical and troubleshooting skills. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Execute tasks as assigned by Maintenance Supervisor Diagnose & repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, & electrical systems Maintain & troubleshoot PLC or automated machining equipment Excellent Troubleshooting skills (Electrical, Mechanical, etc.) Understanding of Root Cause Analysis and the aptitude to keep looking for the core problem Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for Work Order, Parts Order and other computer systems Accurately make independent decisions on product disposition Trouble shoot various problems and develop corrective action to prevent reoccurrence Adhere and monitor SOP Understand/learn the nature and functionality of the products being inspected Effectively communicate and notify supervisor when there are discrepancies Must be able to accurately input all required data into the manufacturing database Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written Mathematical skills Able to work safely and make quality decisions with regard to Safety Time Management Cross functional team builder/player with high levels of professionalism, integrity, and enthusiasm Ability to work alone or as a part of a team, without direct supervision Experience using various computer systems Prior knowledge of CNC or machine tooling Excellent communication skills both verbal and written Cross functional team builder/player with high levels of professionalism, integrity, and enthusiasm Must be able to work accurately and efficiently in a fast work environment that has the potential to change due to regulatory and business needs Need to be detail oriented and highly organized with the ability to multi-task Experience working independently with little supervision Ability to do basic electrical and mechanical repairs Ability to operate all mobile equipment Ability to execute TPM/PM requirements for plant equipment EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE Required: High School Diploma or GED 2-year technical degree (AS) OR similar Military schools / training OR 7 years of Industrial Maintenance / Reliability experience Ability to execute all Multi-craft functions Ability to execute work orders without direct supervision Drive results in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Environmental and People Be a leader/training resource to lower-level maintenance persons Preferred: 5 years of Industrial CNC or similar Maintenance / Reliability experience PLC, HMI, Advanced Hydraulic or similar specialized Industrial Maintenance Training Very good understanding of TPM, PM/Pd.M. and other modern maintenance practices & committed to implementing these practices to form a World Class Manufacturing Facility Understanding of OEE performance metrics and how to improve
