Controller

We are working on a new Controller role with a privately held real estate investment and asset management firm. Our client specializes in distressed debt and structured real estate investments. They are looking to hire a Controller to serve as the firm's senior in-house finance and accounting leader, responsible for day-to-day financial management, accounting oversight, payroll & HR administration, compliance coordination, and internal financial controls. This is a hands-on, operational finance role. The ideal candidate thrives in execution, process-building, accountability, and detail-oriented financial leadership. This role reports directly to the CEO and works closely with the Director of Operations and Asset Management, external accounting firms, and payroll providers. Salary- to 150K + Bonus Responsibilities: Financial Management & Accounting Oversight Tax & Compliance Coordination (Non-Strategic) Payroll & HR Administration Oversight Property & Asset Operations Oversight (Portfolio-Level) Finance Process & Controls Required Qualifications: 7-12+ years of experience in accounting, controllership, or finance operations Strong understanding of practical accounting and financial controls Experience managing external bookkeepers and CPA firms Payroll and HR administration experience Real estate, lending, or asset management background preferred If you meet the required qualifications and are interested in this role, please apply today.
