PRIMARY FUNCTION: Crown Point High School is seeking a dedicated and qualified Healthcare Specialist: CNA Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a registered nurse (RN) or licensed practical nurse (LPN) with a passion for educating and mentoring future healthcare professionals. RESPONSIBILITIES: Utilize state-approved curriculum to teach students essential nursing skills, including but not limited to patient care, vital signs monitoring, infection control, and safety procedures. Facilitate classroom lectures, discussions, and hands-on clinical training to ensure students gain comprehensive knowledge and practical experience in preparation for CNA certification exams. Organize and maintain Indiana Department of Health required student paperwork/portfolios. Organize and maintain Indiana Department of Health required classroom supplies and equipment. Attend mandatory Qualified Mediation Adie Train the Trainer Course and obtain certification to effectively manage classroom dynamics and conflicts. Stay updated on advancements in nursing education, instructional methodologies, and healthcare industry standards to enhance teaching strategies and curriculum delivery. Develop and maintain strong partnerships with local long-term care facilities to provide students with valuable clinical placements and internship opportunities. Collaborate with healthcare providers and industry stakeholders to stay informed about current trends and requirements in the field of nursing assistant training. Work closely with the Crown Point High School Career and Technical Education (CTE) director and NAT Program Director to develop a comprehensive, rigorous, and IDOH approved CNA program. Design and implement initiatives to enhance the quality and effectiveness of the CNA program, ensuring that it meets the standards necessary to produce licensed CNAs.
