This is your opportunity to create a safe, fun, and supportive environment where students can learn, build friendships, andgrow beyond the classroom, while being part of a dedicated, award-winning team.Location:Mercer Elementary School in Harrodsburg, KYStatus:Part-time, non-exemptPay: $20.00 – $22.00 per hourHours: 6:30 am - 7:30 am and 3:00 pm - 5:30 pmFeatured Benefit: Employer-Paid ChildcareHealthy Kids Programs provides childcare for school-age children (ages 5–13) enrolled in program on the days and during the hours you work. Employer contributions cover the cost of care, so you can focus on your job while your child participates in a safe, structured, and engaging program, all without needing to arrange outside care.Key Responsibilities Plan and lead daily after-school activities, enrichment projects, homework support, and special themed events, including arts & crafts and hands-on learning experiences Create a positive, inclusive environment where students feel safe, supported, and engaged after the school day Supervise, train, and support after-school staff, including implementing curriculum and enrichment activities to ensure high-quality program delivery Ensure student safety and maintain compliance with all state licensing regulations, Healthy Kids policies, and host school guidelines Communicate regularly with families using the Playground App and provide support during parent orientations and program events Support community outreach efforts to promote the program and engage prospective families Lead by example with enthusiasm, professionalism, positivity, and a solution-focused attitude RequirementsEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:All candidates must have the following: Must be at least 21 years of age. Education: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent documentation from a recognized educational institution, such as: Kentucky Home School Certificate Transcript showing date of graduation Verification of graduation from another country Letter from a Board of Education confirming completion Note: A Commonwealth Child Care Credential does not meet director qualification requirements. TB Skin Test or Health Professional Statement free from TB. Candidates must meetoneof the following: Associate’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education and Development. Associate’s degree or higher in another field(including pastoral care and counseling),pluseither: 12 hours of child development training (TRIS record accepted),or Three years of verifiable full-time paid experience working directly with children in a school-based program following Department of Education guidelines, an early childhood development program (e.g., Head Start), or a licensed/certified childcare program (including certified home providers). Experience must be documented by written letters from previous employers showing full-time employment dates Director’s Credential in Early Childhood Development,plusone year of verifiable full-time paid experience working directly with children in a school-based program, Head Start, or a licensed/certified childcare program (including certified home providers). Child Development Associate (CDA) credential,plusone year of verifiable paid experience working directly with children in a school-based program, Head Start, or a licensed/certified childcare program (including certified home providers). High school diploma,plusthree years of verifiable full-time paid experience working directly with children in a school-based program, Head Start, or a licensed/certified childcare program (including certified home providers).
