Department: Library Work Schedule: During library's operating hours of Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; occasional evening and weekend hours Dates of Program: August 2026 to May 2027 Hours per Week: Up to 20 hours per week Description: The Keeneland Association, the leader in Thoroughbred sales & racing, is seeking quality candidates for its Library internship. Keeneland Library is the world's largest repository for the industry. The Library is a fast-paced environment, and we are seeking an intern who craves learning new skills and is not afraid to tackle big projects. As an intern, you will report to the Library Director for your day-to-day job and work collaboratively on projects with the Library team. You will gain valuable experience in research, preservation, and education and outreach in a specialized library. Responsibilities: Support library staff with reference/research inquiries and image licensing requests. Support library staff with education and outreach events and initiatives. Support library staff with building and preserving collections for today's and tomorrow's researchers, industry organizations, and fan base. Inventory, organize, and rehouse collections. Provide front desk service delivery, greeting and referring patrons to appropriate library staff. Support Library Director with development initiatives. Participate in staff meetings. Other duties as assigned by the Library Director. Qualifications: Demonstrated ability to work proactively and as a vital member of the Library's team. Strong communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work with diverse patrons. Ability to manage projects simultaneously and utilize time-management skills to meet deadlines. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Horse industry knowledge and/or prior experience preferred. Physical Demands: Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs.
