Purchasing Specialist

JW Hicks is searching for a dynamic and motivated Purchasing Specialist to join our team. This is an in-person role located in Knox, IN. As a Purchasing Specialist, you will play a crucial role in acquiring materials and services, establishing and maintaining supplier relationships, and ensuring timely procurement of products essential for our operations. Responsibilities: Order necessary materials and services efficiently. Manage purchasing information and systems effectively. Track receipts and assess supplier delivery performance. Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and adhere to service level agreements. Administer purchasing contracts diligently. Monitor and manage inventories of raw materials. Collaborate with various departments to forecast and prepare for required purchases. Develop and generate periodic reports as needed. Assist the team with additional duties as required. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or relevant equivalent experience. Strong interpersonal skills. 2-3 years of experience related to the responsibilities outlined above. Basic computer skills and familiarity with commonly used business software. A willingness to learn and grow in the role. Preferred Qualifications: Exceptional organizational abilities. Experience with ERP systems. Proficiency in spreadsheets and database management. Understanding of packaging and transportation regulations. Knowledge of OSHA industrial standards.
