Position Purpose: The Night Operations Assistant Manager Trainee (NOAM-T) will gain valuable hands-on experience in the fundamental responsibilities of a Night Operations Assistant Manager at The Home Depot. This role offers a comprehensive training program that includes practical experience, mentorship, and leadership development. Throughout the training period, which lasts up to 6 weeks, NOAM-Ts will learn about the Manager on Duty responsibilities while overseeing overnight freight operations to ensure efficient execution of core freight handling programs. This position involves frequent collaboration with Night Replenishment Managers (NRMs) to effectively manage the unload, pack out, and pack down processes. NOAM-Ts will also work closely with the Store Manager and Assistant Store Managers (ASMs) to develop strategies aimed at enhancing sales and profitability, creating actionable plans for departmental success, and ensuring operational efficiency. Leading by example is essential, as is the responsibility to uphold, maintain, and support all company policies and positions. Key Responsibilities: Customer Experience (10%): Supervise associates in the selling effort and lead GET culture. Drive customer service and associate engagement throughout the store; promptly resolve customer concerns and issues. Operations Management (15%): Execute Opening and Closing MOD responsibilities and adhere to all company policies and procedures, holding associates accountable as well. Gain a strong command of store standard operating procedures (SOPs), focusing on Safety compliance and strategies to maintain process accuracy and reduce shrink. Safety (15%): Ensure that self and associates adhere to all safety and hazmat procedures, following Safety Matters guidelines at all times. Sales and Productivity (10%): Collaborate with key partners in planning merchandise placement, signage, and inventory management to maintain stock integrity. Learn to operate all store equipment and manage daily financial operations effectively. Training and Preparing for Assistant Manager Position (50%): Engage in a structured training program covering all aspects of retail store management, including operations, customer service, and sales & profitability. Develop skills in staffing and scheduling, identifying and resolving stock deficiencies, supervising associates in selling behaviors, addressing customer issues, and supporting installed sales/special orders. Demonstrate knowledge of the performance management process, including the review of associate performance and execution of disciplinary actions when necessary. Complete all assigned training modules and assessments. Direct Manager/Direct Reports: This position typically reports to the Store Manager. This position has 0 direct reports. Travel Requirements: Generally requires overnight travel of less than 5% of the time. Physical Requirements: This role necessitates intermittent periods of continuous physical exertion, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, and lifting materials or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward. Working Conditions: Work is performed in a comfortable indoor environment, with occasional mild discomfort. Minimum Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age or older. Must have legal authorization to work in the United States. Preferred Qualifications: Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams. Minimum Education: Completion of a high school diploma and/or GED. Preferred Education: Completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent in a related field.
