Location Detail: 80 Seymour Street (10008) Shift Detail: Rotational We are excited to present a fantastic opportunity to join the dedicated obstetric team at Hartford Hospital. Our Labor and Delivery unit is recognized as a high-risk referral center, handling approximately 4,000 deliveries each year. Additionally, our Obstetric Triage unit evaluates more than 3,000 patients yearly. As the demand and complexity of our services increase, we are enhancing our inpatient obstetric coverage by introducing 24/7 Advanced Practice Provider support. We seek candidates with strong clinical reasoning and outstanding communication skills. This role involves both independent functioning and collaboration with nurses, residents, and attending physicians, reporting directly to the OB/GYN Hospitalist Director. Key Responsibilities: Provide care for patients admitted or being triaged within our Obstetric service line. Assist in Labor and Delivery with admissions, magnesium sulfate checks, and labor evaluations when residents are unavailable, particularly during shift changes and busy periods. Conduct rounding and evaluation of antepartum patients as needed, addressing concerns such as labor, elevated blood pressure, infections, and medication orders. Perform biophysical profiles (BPPs) for non-reactive NSTs and conduct limited obstetric ultrasounds. Provide typical postpartum care, which includes rounding, discharge planning, coordinating inpatient consults, responding to elevated blood pressures, addressing postpartum or postoperative issues, conducting medication reconciliation, and placing Nexplanon. Evaluate patients in triage for pre-term/term labor, rupture of membranes, bleeding, high blood pressure, pre-eclampsia, abdominal pain, and other concerns, with an attending physician always available for support. Schedule: 3 - 13.3 hour shifts per week (day and night rotation); night/weekend shift differentials apply. Qualifications: Must be a graduate of an accredited Advanced Practitioner program. License as a Physician Assistant, Nurse Practitioner, or Nurse Midwife required.
