Head Volunteer Educator

Overview Join our enthusiastic team as a Head Volunteer Educator! In this crucial role, you will engage in teaching while also partnering with the program director to recruit, train, and lead our dedicated volunteer educators. We are looking for someone passionate and visionary to inspire both educators and students. Qualifications and Experience A minimum of two years of classroom teaching experience in educational or community settings. A mature personal Christian faith aligned with the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith. Active participation in a local church whose beliefs align with the LifeWise Academy Statement of Faith. Job Description Plan Curriculum Select and design the LifeWise lessons to be taught each academic year, ensuring they resonate with students. Guarantee that all educators and classes maintain consistent expectations, processes, and a curriculum reflecting the LifeWise mission. Collaborate with the program director to provide essential curriculum resources and supplementary materials to educators. Train and Observe Educators Organize an engaging teacher training day at the start of each school year to set everyone up for success. Facilitate regular educator meetings to ensure uniformity in procedures, curriculum, and expectations throughout the program. Support the program director in observing and mentoring educators, fostering their growth. Actively participate as a team representative in training opportunities hosted by the LifeWise Support Center. Encourage educator engagement at the annual LifeWise Summit to promote professional development. Create and Maintain Records Establish classroom schedules and coordinate any necessary adjustments with staff members. Maintain accurate class rosters, including health concerns and special needs as indicated on parent permission slips. Assist the director in formulating and upholding program policies and procedures. Communicate Effectively Represent the volunteer educators at Leadership Board meetings, ensuring a strong voice for our educators. Regularly visit program classes to provide support and motivation to both educators and students. Build strong relationships with volunteers, keeping them informed and engaged regarding scheduling changes. Submit regular updates, inspiring stories, and photos to the program director to showcase our impact. Other Duties Assist the program director with additional responsibilities as needed, contributing to the overall success of the program.
