Join our team as an Assistant Leader where you will learn the ins and outs of store operations and take on key responsibilities in human resources and management. This role is an excellent opportunity to enhance customer satisfaction, drive store performance, and learn from experienced leaders. RESPONSIBILITIES Support the store manager and team to create a positive shopping experience while fostering a strong commitment to customer service. Assist in planning and executing merchandising and operational initiatives to promote store objectives. Collaborate with the store manager to develop effective communication strategies based on Associate Insight survey results. Work with department heads to identify areas for improvement, create solutions, and implement action plans. Model the highest standards of customer service and address concerns efficiently. Oversee store operations during the absence of the store manager. Achieve or exceed sales, wage, and profit budgets, along with other targeted goals. Drive sales initiatives in partnership with department managers to enhance profitability and reduce shrinkage. Engage in financial performance discussions with associates to align on budgets and performance targets. Analyze the competitive landscape to inform store strategy. Promote an inclusive work environment and encourage positive interactions among associates. Ensure that store departments meet sales and profit goals by working with field staff and coordinators. Build and maintain strong relationships with local community organizations. If applicable, foster productive relationships with union representatives. Facilitate clear communication with associates to empower them in their roles. Serve as a communication link between store, district managers, and coordinators regarding operational plans. Support the store manager in staffing efforts to enhance team retention and reduce turnover. Provide regular feedback on individual and departmental performance to direct reports. Assist with daily labor management and supply costs to meet financial objectives. Ensure compliance with laws and policies while keeping associates informed. Supervise and mentor direct reports, conducting performance reviews and providing constructive feedback. Ability to perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum High school diploma or GED. 1 year of experience in a management role such as department or service manager. Approval from store manager, district manager, or direct supervisor. Desired Experience in retail management with a thorough understanding of store operations. Previous supervisory experience.
