About the Role Our client is seeking compassionate, reliable school nurses to support students and staff across specialized educational settings. This role is central to creating a safe, healthy, and inclusive school environment where students can learn, grow, and thrive. As a school nurse, you will provide professional nursing services, promote wellness, respond to health concerns, and collaborate closely with educators, families, and medical professionals. This position blends clinical skill with community impact and is ideal for nurses who enjoy working with children in an educational setting. Key Responsibilities Provide first aid, emergency care, and ongoing health support to students and staff Assist the School Physician with: Physical examinations Vision and hearing screenings Maintain accurate and confidential student health records Support and participate in school immunization clinics Assess and respond to communicable disease concerns and health-related attendance issues Coordinate emergency transportation for ill or injured students or staff when needed Inspect school facilities (classrooms, playgrounds, cafeterias) and report on safety and sanitation concerns Order, manage, and inventory medical supplies and first-aid equipment Prepare required reports and documentation in accordance with school and state guidelines Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and attendance staff to support student wellness Minimum Qualifications Graduation from a New York State Education Department-approved nursing program Active New York State Registered Nurse license Ability to work effectively with children, families, and school personnel Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills Application Requirements Applicants be prepared to submit the following prior to the first interview: Copy of nursing certification/license Two (2) signed written letters of reference Two (2) professional telephone references (Must be from previous/current direct supervisor)
