Seeking a strategic, hands-on Senior Nurse Director to lead daily operations of a high-acuity, 34-bed Emergency Department serving more than 55,000 annual visits. The Senior Nurse Director is responsible for driving clinical excellence, patient flow, and staff engagement in a fast-paced setting. This leader will oversee ED staffing and scheduling to match acuity and volume, manage budgets and resource allocation, partner with physician leadership, and ensure regulatory compliance (EMTALA, Joint Commission, CMS) while elevating quality, safety, and patient experience. Other responsibilities include optimizing triage and throughput, coordinating bed placement, leading huddles, monitoring KPI dashboards, executing evidence-based protocols (sepsis, stroke, STEMI, trauma), collaborating with ancillary services, and advancing process improvement initiatives using Lean methodologies. The Senior Nurse Director will champion staff development, recruitment and retention, competency validation, policy updates, supply and capital planning, EMR optimization, and emergency preparedness-delivering reliable results across quality, efficiency, and financial stewardship.
