Position Overview: The Senior Manager of Strategic Procurement and Optimization plays a crucial role in managing all indirect (non-merchandise) spending for our organization. This leader will actively engage in contract negotiations, execute strategic sourcing initiatives, and ensure vendor and contract compliance. Collaborating across various departments, this position will identify and optimize inefficiencies, driving cost reductions while enhancing both customer and employee satisfaction. Work Environment: At Duluth Trading Company, we cherish in-person interactions that nurture our culture of learning, creativity, and teamwork. This role is based at our headquarters near Madison, WI. Expect to work in the office from Monday to Thursday, with the option to work remotely on Fridays if preferred. What You'll Do: Design and implement procurement strategies that provide competitive advantages in sourcing goods and services. Build and maintain strong relationships throughout the organization. Conduct market and data analysis to pinpoint key spending areas for improvement and craft category management plans. Lead, develop, and inspire a high-performing team of procurement professionals. Collaborate across functions including Legal, Finance, IT, Operations, and Supply Chain to align procurement decisions with the organization’s mission. Develop and manage procurement processes, policies, and tools to align with business objectives and procurement strategy. Oversee supplier relationships to maximize business value. Enhance productivity and process efficiency across the organization. Utilize intelligence and data to evaluate company processes, identifying and quantifying inefficiencies. Work collaboratively with business areas to rectify and improve inefficiencies. Engage in additional projects and duties as needed. What We're Looking For: Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, or a related field is required; a Master's degree is preferred (equivalent work experience will be considered). 10+ years of relevant experience in procurement. 3+ years of management experience. Extensive experience in a corporate setting with numerous interpersonal contacts requiring sound professional judgment. Strong background in reviewing and negotiating contracts. A proven ability to foster strong relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders across all organization levels. Demonstrable track record of achieving cost savings, enhancing vendor relationships, and optimizing processes. Familiarity with the legal aspects relevant to contracts and agreements. Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the capability to leverage data for decision-making. Exceptional negotiation skills. Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teams in attaining ambitious goals. Strong critical thinking skills, resourcefulness, and adaptability. Integrity and transparency in all professional dealings. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) or Google Workspace. Experience with financial/ERP systems is essential. Familiarity with procurement systems is advantageous. Six Sigma training is preferred. Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship. Physical Environment & Travel Expectations: Travel is minimal, requiring less than 10% for meetings and events. Sitting for 90% of working hours is expected. Occasional standing required for up to 10% of working hours. Frequent arm, hand, and wrist movement is necessary (i.e., typing tasks). Occasional reaching, twisting, and bending are required. Noise levels will be no greater than casual conversation. Work will be performed in cubicle workstations or an office environment. Comfortable working conditions with a temperature range of 65 to 75 degrees. Position Compensation Outline: Compensation Range: $112,000 - $124,000/year This position is eligible for participation in the company bonus program. Compensation is for the full-time position at this location and based on various factors including experience and qualifications.
