Role Overview: The Solutions Engineering Manager will lead a talented team of Enterprise Solutions Engineers, closely collaborating with our sales leadership to serve West Coast accounts. You'll create an environment that promotes the professional growth of Solutions Engineers through development planning, coaching, and training. This technical position emphasizes leadership and strong customer engagement, focusing on relationship building and advocacy for our clients. Your insights will be instrumental in shaping customer solutions and driving Confluent's expansion. Key Responsibilities: Lead Solutions Engineers, emphasizing customer engagement, product knowledge, and sales skills. Collaborate with Sales Leadership on business metrics and consumption forecasts. Develop and implement strategies for the Solutions Engineering team to meet sales and customer success goals. Mental team members and provide career development opportunities to enhance engagement and growth. Engage with customers by demonstrating advanced technical knowledge and problem-solving abilities while building key relationships. Advise on overcoming customer technical challenges and managing escalations. Work alongside sales, product, and engineering teams to integrate technical solutions and customer feedback into product development. Expand the team through effective hiring and recruitment strategies. Qualifications: 2+ years of leadership experience in Solutions Engineering or similar customer-facing roles. A strong technical foundation in cloud services, streaming data platforms, and enterprise architecture. A proven track record of leading teams to meet sales goals and achieve excellent customer outcomes. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for engaging stakeholders at all levels. Strong commitment to fostering an inclusive and collaborative team culture. Proven ability to navigate fast-paced, high-growth environments successfully. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in software or cloud services, particularly with streaming data technologies like Apache Kafka. A history of innovating and creatively solving complex technical issues. Experience leading teams through changes, including process improvements and technology adoption.
