Click on the following link to view the full pay range on the ESP Salary Schedule: Summary: The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) will provide one-on-one support to a student with complex medical and developmental history which could include rare medical diagnoses, seizures, language and attention challenges, and adaptive delays. The CNA will assist the student in accessing the school environment safely and effectively, supporting daily living, medical, and educational needs under the guidance of licensed medical professionals and the student's Individualized Education Program (IEP) team. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Supervise and respond to signs of seizures in accordance with the student's Seizure Action Plan Monitor for episodes of visual disturbance or vision loss; follow established safety and reassurance protocols. Assist with physical positioning, transitions, and mobility. Track and report symptoms, including duration and frequency of medical events, to nursing and educational teams. Support student during feeding times, ensuring adequate nutrition and minimizing distractions. Assist with bathroom routines, including wiping and hygiene tasks. Reinforce educational goals under the direction of special education teachers and therapists. Offer frequent redirection and refocusing due to attention challenges. Support language comprehension by offering simplified and repeated directions. Implement and reinforce accommodations and modifications from the IEP and therapy team. Maintain daily communication logs and document interventions and student responses. Perform other duties as assigned. Education, Training and Experience: HHS diploma or GED required. Completion of a state approved CNA program preferred at the time of hire, otherwise a state approved CNA certification will be required to be obtained within 16 weeks of hire date. Bilingual Spanish/English preferred due to student's primary language. Minimum of two years of relevant experience, preferably in an educational setting. Experience working with children with medical complexity or developmental disabilities. Strong communication skills and sensitivity to working with families from diverse backgrounds. Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond to medical needs swiftly and appropriately. Oral and written communication in English and Spanish, strong interpersonal, basic math, keyboarding, personal computer, word processing, organization, coordination, research and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of State and Federal laws and regulations governing school systems and programs. Current CNA certification in the State of Colorado (required). CPR and First Aid certification required. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Basic knowledge of computers and office equipment. Criminal background check and District fingerprinting required.
