Contract: Interim Controller 10604 Our client, located in Irving, is looking for an Interim Controller to join their team on a contract basis for the next 2-3 months. There could be the potential of contract-to-hire for the right candidate. A 3-month commitment is required. Key Qualifications: Must be a strong Controller willing to be hands-on and able to be strategic Strong M&A experience is required Able to review taxes, including sales & use, property, state, and federal MBA or CPA highly preferred Public accounting preferred The Corporate Controller reports to the CFO and is self-directed and accountable for the accounting operations of the company, to include the production of timely monthly financial reports for multiple stakeholders, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles. The Finance and Accounting organization is a key business partner to cross-functional teams, providing timely and relevant financial information to support strategic growth objectives. The successful candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced, high demanding environment that is constantly evolving, providing leadership and execution in building Backoffice operations that are efficient and scalable. Key Responsibilities: General Responsibilities: Maintain and enforce a documented system of accounting policies and procedures. Directly manage accounting personnel including the following areas: General Ledger Accounting, Transactional Accounting (AP/AR), Billing, Collections, and Tax. Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organization structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives. Participate in the development of and support of the company's strategic plans. Guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures. Protect assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls. Lead the implementation of new processes and technology tools by partnering with IT. Strong working knowledge of US GAAP with the ability to implement new revenue recognition standards. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax requirements. Oversee daily operations of the finance department. Recruit, train, supervise and evaluate department staff in order to build and lead the department to provide excellent customer service. Manage auditors and leading successful financial statement audits. Detailed Responsibilities: Responsible for ensuring financial statements comply with U.S. GAAP. Responsible for all aspects of the company's General Ledger system including management of Chart of Accounts and field reporting of 100 P&Ls. Manages all accounting operations including a/r, a/r, g/l, f/a, sales and local taxes and payroll/benefits. Manage third-party tax preparers (51 state tax, 165 property tax jurisdictions, valuations) Support a team of 5 Leaders and 60 employees downline in all aspects of staff development, organizational changes, strategic transformation of departments for scale Support Executive Leadership in the field with finance decision making, capital expenditures, technical accounting. Lead weekly Leadership team meetings and weekly cross-functional leadership meetings Oversee the preparation and publishing of timely and accurate monthly financial statements and balance sheet account reconciliations. Develop and manage financial controls in accordance with the company's policies and procedures. Research technical accounting issues for compliance. Develop and documents business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls. Cash Management and Forecasting Work in tight timelines and deadlines. Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. Project management for ERP implementation working with consultants, internal teams, and implementation team Member of IT Steering Committee M&A Responsibilities: M&A Steering Committee Accounting and finance integration Occasional travel Perform net working capital true up Cash and asset securitization immediately post close Skills and Experiences: Minimum of 15 years of finance/accounting experience. Cash management and forecasting experience required. M&A and Due Diligence experience required. Acquisition Integration experience required. Proven track record in adding value to companies and executive staff. Excellent communication skills, both oral, written, and interpersonal with an ability to tailor communication style to the global audience. Ability to confidently present clear and concise information to senior leadership. Superb employee management, mentoring and training skills. Excellent time management skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal oversight. Strong attention to detail and organization skills with the ability to see the big picture. Proven ability to work in tight timelines and deadlines. Education: Bachelor's Degree in related field. Master's degree or CPA required.
