Zürich is excited to announce an opening for a Management Liability Underwriting Director in our expanding team. We are seeking skilled candidates to work either remotely within the U.S. or from our office locations in Austin, Dallas, Houston, or San Antonio. This role is crucial as a Management Liability Underwriter where you will leverage your sales, marketing, and analytical talents to assess and underwrite both new and renewal business for Financial Lines Products, which include Directors and Officers, Employment Practices Liability, Fiduciary Liability, and Crime Insurance for private and nonprofit organizations. This is a market-facing position requiring a robust sales mindset. You will proactively identify opportunities for renewal and new account growth. Key responsibilities include cultivating strong relationships with retail distributors (agents and brokers) and our clients to support business retention and attract new clients. Understanding our customers' insurance requirements and providing tailored solutions is essential for success in this role. Key Responsibilities: Administer and monitor underwriting rules, guidelines, rating manual rules, and insurance laws and regulations. Develop, maintain, and collaborate with representatives from the Line of Business and other relevant business functions. Build and maintain relationships with distributors to support business retention and acquisition, while assessing clients' insurance needs. Act as a support point for agents, brokers, and customers to promote our sales culture. Actively seek renewal and new account opportunities. Conduct detailed opportunity assessments with key distributors to identify growth potential. Qualify accounts to align with the organization's appetite while balancing sound business opportunities. Conduct broker/customer and on-site visits with a clear and strategic purpose. Mentor and guide team members. This position will be filled at either the Management Liability Underwriting Director or a comparable managerial level, depending on the candidate’s experience and qualifications. Basic Qualifications: Management Liability Underwriting Director: High School Diploma or equivalent plus 5+ years of underwriting or market-facing experience; OR High School Diploma or equivalent and 10+ years in claims or underwriting support; OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an associate degree and 3+ years in underwriting or market-facing; OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an associate degree and 8+ years in claims or underwriting support; AND Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Experience working under time constraints for quotes on new and renewal business. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. OR AVP Underwriter: High School Diploma or equivalent plus 7+ years in underwriting, market-facing roles, accounting, banking, or risk management; OR High School Diploma or equivalent and 14+ years in claims or underwriting support; OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an associate degree and 5+ years in underwriting, market-facing roles, accounting, banking, or risk management; OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an associate degree and 12+ years in claims or underwriting support; AND Experience with Microsoft Office. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree. Strong verbal and written communication abilities. Excellent relationship-building skills. Your compensation at Zürich will be based on your role, location, skills, and experience while ensuring compliance with local laws. You may also be eligible for bonuses and merit increases. The national average salary range for this position is $98,500 - $215,000, with specific ranges set for different levels. The proposed salary for the Management Liability Underwriting Director is $98,500 - $165,000, which includes eligibility for a Global Specialty Incentive Plan bonus of 30%.
