Position SummaryThe ER Registered Nurse will provide onsite Emergency Room Services at the Medical Facility located in Houston, TX. Providing healthcare to patients who urgently need treatment so that they can stabilize their vital signs and limit pain and discomfort, giving timely care to their patients in a fast-paced environment.Essential Duties and Responsibilities Identifying the needs of a patient, filling out charts and intake paper and collecting information and samples so they can run tests.Triage incoming patients based on level of injury or illnessImmediately stabilize incoming patientsAdminister medication as instructed by physiciansStart intravenous lines, and set broken bonesPerform tracheotomies and intubationsGive patients stitches and suturesCreate and maintain incoming patient recordsWork with team of emergency staff to help patientsHelp transfer stable patients to other wingsCarry out the plan of care by performing/assigning delegated tasksCare and management of peripheral and central lines, including PICC linesMeasure vital signs/hemodynamic monitoring including Pain (the 5th Vital Sign), pulse oximetry, etc.Perform wound care including dressing changes (sterile and non-sterile), and obtaining wound cultures as necessaryPerform non-acute and/or acute ventilator care, if neededPerform suctioning including oral, nasogastic, and tracheostomyPerform deep suctioning, which may include obtaining specimensAssess for and administer tube feedingsAssist with routine urinary and bowel elimination including catheters, colostomies, and digital stimulation Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Graduate of an accredited nursing programLicensed in any State, Territory, Commonwealth of the U.S. or D.C.BLS and/or ACLSWilling to work 12- hour shifts and be available for w eekends, h olidays, e venings and n ight shifts1 year of experience (within the past 5 years) in Emergency DepartmentMust be able to multi-task, be detail-oriented, be organized and have excellent verbal and communication skillsMust be able to perform in a stressful and high paced environment without physical limitations.Ability to adapt to sudden changes and flexibility in work requirements to include potential shift changes based on operational needs and/or command prioritiesMust be able to lift up to 40 lbs. and carry up to 10ftMust be able to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
