Manager of Surgical Services

Job Description Overview We are seeking an experienced Manager of Surgical Services to lead Operating Room operations at a Level II Trauma Center in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. This role provides 24-hour operational accountability for surgical services, ensuring safe, high-quality patient care delivery, regulatory compliance, staff development, and operational efficiency across a high-volume perioperative environment. Department Snapshot Facility: 267-bed acute care hospital Trauma Level: II OR Suites: 10 Main ORs + 2 CVORs Average Daily Surgical Volume: ~25 cases Direct Reports: ~62 FTEs Reports To: Director of Surgical Services Responsibilities Provide 24-hour leadership and accountability for Surgical Services. Ensure compliance with Joint Commission and regulatory standards. Oversee OR operations, staffing, scheduling, and resource management. Maintain adherence to nursing standards of practice and hospital policies. Lead interdisciplinary collaboration to optimize patient throughput and outcomes. Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives. Monitor core measures, patient safety metrics, and service excellence goals. Participate in leadership rounding and proactively address patient care concerns. Manage equipment, supply utilization, and departmental budgets. Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and patient-centered care.
