Sign-on Bonus: $10,000 About the Role The Associate Medical Director for Post Acute Care at Carelon Medical Benefits Management plays a vital role in ensuring high-quality medical management and support for our members and providers. This position allows for virtual work with maximum flexibility, while also requiring some in-person training sessions. Key Responsibilities: Oversee timely completion of clinical case reviews in your specialty. Conduct physician-to-physician calls to gather necessary medical information for making medical necessity determinations. Make informed medical necessity decisions related to grievances and appeals specific to your specialty. Utilize established medical policies consistently when determining medical necessity. Communicate with supervisors regarding cases that require advanced Medical Director review or policy interpretation. Minimum Qualifications: MD or DO with board certification from an approved medical specialty board (ABMS or AOA). Active and unrestricted medical license to practice medicine or health profession. Preferred Skills and Experience: Three years of clinical experience post-residency, preferably in inpatient post-acute care. Board certification in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is preferred. Compensation: The salary range for this position is $179,503 to $307,732, depending on experience and geography.
