Position Description The Sr. Director of Accounting and Finance is responsible for direct financial activities, such as planning, procurement, investment, budget, general ledger and financial reporting. They will be working directly with department heads and subsidiaries across the organization to develop and enhance current financial procedures and practices. This positions also manages the accounting team. Major Areas of Responsibility Perform monthly reconciliations for the GL/financials (primarily related to payroll and subsidiaries) Assist in developing and preparing the annual budget, comparing it to the actual results, and reporting on variances from the budget Analyze monthly department budgeting and accounting reports to maintain expenditure control for Omaha Track, Inc. and its subsidiaries Assist in the development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow Assist in the strategic planning of the Accounting organization and system requirements Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information Lead/facilitate the transition to paperless files and record retention Work with other team members to cross-train as a back-up for other Accounting managerial positions Support CFO with special projects and work flow processes Manage the Acumatica Accounting System set up and administration Evaluate needs for procurement of funds and investment of surpluses and make appropriate recommendations Delegate authority for the receipt, disbursement, banking, protection, and custody of funds, securities, and financial instruments Develop and maintain relationships with banking, insurance, and external accounting personnel to facilitate financial activities Monitor financial activities and details, such as cash flow and reserve levels, to ensure that all legal and regulatory requirements are met Receive, record, and authorize requests for disbursements in accordance with company policies and procedures Qualification & Requirements Minimum 4-year degree in Accounting or equivalent experience 5+ years of GAAP accounting experience within a supervisory capacity CPA/MBA would be preferred Knowledge of Federal and State Income, Payroll, Property, Excise and other Taxes Experience with financial consolidations and multiple company reporting and intercompany transactions Experience with cash flow projections and investment management Experience with project accounting and job costing Strong background in inventory management a plus Work Requirements Ability to plan and prioritize work Ability to multi-task with a hands-on management style Be capable of absorbing other corporate business requirements as needed Ability to implement and enforce internal accounting controls Ability to meet all functional requirements including, but not limited to: lifting (up to 30lbs), sitting, kneeling, standing, walking, bending, squatting, finger dexterity, and reaching above/below shoulders Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
