Job Title: Regulatory SpecialistJob Description The Regulatory Specialist is responsible for overseeing all elements pertaining to regulatory compliance of inbound and outbound materials. This role requires SQF, PCQI & FSVP training, with a strong working knowledge of regulations and food science. The Specialist will act as a resource and keeper of regulations applicable to all business units, products, and customers, engaging with all site functions and potentially with external customers. Good communication, leadership, and influencing skills are essential. Responsibilities Maintain and implement compliance and regulatory procedures, processes, and practices for all aspects of the compliance and regulatory management program. Support the governance for customer regulatory documentation, ensuring responses are accurate, timely, consistent, and appropriately controlled. Ensure production sites conduct required testing to support Regulatory/Customer Advocacy Assurance programs, such as agrochemical testing. Support governance of completed artwork and label reviews and approvals for all products, including new and reformulated products. Assist with management of nutritional analysis, nutrition facts panels, and ingredient declarations. Review current and new ingredients, suppliers, and formulae for regulatory compliance, claim risks, and compliance with country of manufacture and destination regulations. Adhere to the regulatory compliance reporting infrastructure to inform the commercial team about approved goods for export markets. Support manufacturing sites' SQF, organic, RFA, kosher, halal, and other programs in relation to regulatory compliance. Partner with R&D to stay informed on regulatory trends in food safety, labeling, and food standards, impacting sampling and development activities. Align on customer questionnaires, surveys, and requests to ensure accuracy and adequacy across tea, coffee, and juice-based beverages. Support the maintenance of external certifications for the Quality System and consumer-focused and religious qualifications. Support site Quality, Regulatory, and Food Safety training. Essential Skills Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance and documentation. Experience with SQF, PCQI, and FSVP. Ability to analyze nutrition labels and verify supplier compliance. Proficiency in managing customer requests and regulatory documentation. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in food science and related regulatory areas. Ability to support and maintain external certifications such as Organic, Fairtrade, Kosher, and Halal. Work Environment The work environment is fun and outgoing, featuring amenities like pool and ping pong tables, as well as a bar onsite. The company hosts a softball league and various other activities. The team is youthful yet experienced, with great staff retention. This role offers a flexible but consistent schedule of 7:30 am to 4 pm, and the option to work remotely. The corporate headquarters are in Glenview, with a new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in New Lenox. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Glenview, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
