Sr. Workstation Server Administrator

SYSTEMTEC is seeking a Sr. Workstation Server Administrator for an on-site opportunity in Columbia, SC. The candidate will support and maintain enterprise workstation and server environments while contributing to automation, scripting, and modernization initiatives that improve endpoint performance and streamline deployment processes. This role combines hands-on troubleshooting with development-focused tasks to enhance system reliability and scalability, including managing remote access and endpoint solutions such as Citrix, VDI, VPN, and Intune.Required Qualifications of Sr. Workstation Server Administrator:Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to provide sponsorship or work with Third-Party agencies.Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or 4 years of relevant professional experience, or an Associate's degree in a related field combined with 2 years of applicable work experience.At least 4 years of hands-on experience supporting workstations, servers, or applications, including both software and hardware troubleshooting.CompTIA A+ certification required at minimumStrong working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Active Directory, and Group Policy administration.Demonstrated experience troubleshooting hardware and software issues and exposure to scripting or programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript.Experience with build and deployment automation tools such as GitHub Actions or Jenkins.Familiarity with Intune device management and mobile device management (MDM) concepts.Understanding of Azure Active Directory and its integration with endpoint management.Responsibilities of the Sr. Workstation Server Administrator:Support modernization and automation of workstation and virtual desktop platforms, including deployment pipelines and related tools.Develop, test, and maintain scripts, code, and source control processes to streamline operations and build workflows.Participate in daily standups and collaborate with technical leads to discuss progress, priorities, and project blockers.Troubleshoot and monitor endpoints, network printers (MFPs), and virtual desktop environments to ensure operational stability.Configure, update, and document image build standards using tools such as BigFix OSD and Intune Autopilot, while maintaining hardware seed units and documenting configurations.Work Location: On-site in Columbia, SCCompensation / Benefits:Full-Time Employment with SYSTEMTEC means competitive compensation, access to health, dental, disability, and life coverage, and 401(k) with match.Please note: We are not currently able to hire candidates who reside or work in California, New York, or New Jersey.
