We are currently hiring a Pediatrician for a locum-to-perm position at our St. Mary's High Desert location. Overview: This full-time Pediatrics position involves providing compassionate and comprehensive care to approximately 25 patients daily in a high-demand clinic setting. You will work Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with flexible lunch breaks, and no on-call responsibilities. The clinic serves a socioeconomically challenged community, emphasizing the importance of accessible healthcare. This role provides an excellent pathway from locum work to permanent employment for candidates interested in long-term commitment. Required Skills: Active California medical license and CA DEA certificate Board Certified or Board Eligible within five years of residency Current BLS certification Exceptional clinical skills and pediatric expertise Ability to manage a high patient volume efficiently Strong communication and interpersonal skills Attention to detail and documentation accuracy Nice to Have Skills: Bilingual proficiency in Spanish Experience working in underserved or high-demand community clinics Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems Prior locum experience leading to permanent placement Preferred Education and Experience: Medical degree (MD or DO) from accredited institution Completion of Pediatric residency program Proven experience with pediatric patients in a clinical setting Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team Other Requirements: Willingness to work full-time hours, 5 days a week Ability to accommodate scheduling for potential patient no-shows Competitive hourly pay rate of $1.00 (please note this rate is for illustrative purposes; actual compensation will be discussed during the interview) No privileges required; immediate start once access is established Availability for potential locum-to-perm transition Will be reimbursed for licensure, certification, travel, and related expenses where applicable VHS offers a supportive environment with competitive pay packages, weekly pay via direct deposit, comprehensive medical benefits (W-2), a robust referral bonus program, 24/7 dedicated support team, paid sick time per applicable laws, and reimbursements for licensure, certification, travel, and other expenses when applicable.
