Position Type: Tranportation Administrative/Route Manager Date Posted: 3/3/2026 Location: OCS Transportation Department Date Available: 07/01/2026 OLDHAM COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION ADMINISTRATIVE REGULATION 1014.001- AR JOB DESCRIPTION: TRANSPORTATION AREA MANAGER / ROUTE COORDINATOR QUALIFICATIONS: 1. High school diploma/equivalent 2. General supervisory skills 3. Computer Skills: Word, Excel, Outlook 4. Commercial Driver's License - Class B with Passenger & School Bus (S) Endorsement (May acquire after obtaining position) 5. State Certified Driver Trainer - (May acquire after obtaining position) REPORTS TO: Transportation Director/Assistant Transportation Director JOB GOAL: To assist the Transportation Director in organizing and implementing a safe and efficient transportation system for all Oldham County students. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Coordinate the development of safe bus routes consistent with applicable federal, state, and district policies state for district schools as assigned. 2. Process transportation requests and perform bus stop evaluations for assigned routes. Regularly update assigned bus route and schedules. 3. Maintain and update assigned routes in accordance to applicable federal, state, and district procedures. 4. Responsible for supervening and evaluating assigned transportation staff, and development of subsequent corrective action plan if necessary. 5. Acts as a liaison with parents for concerns and special requests. 6. Respond to bus collisions and completes necessary reports in the absence of Assistant Director. 7. Promotes high standards of safety and good housekeeping methods in all work-connected areas. 8. Verifies time cards of assigned transportation staff. 9. Check county roadways in the event of inclement weather. 10. Performs such other reasonable duties within the scope of the transportation department as may be assigned by the Director or the Assistant Superintendent Student Services. 11. Acts as Transportation Director in the absence of director and assistant director. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary-Annual contract; salary determined by Superintendent's recommendation and Board approval. Twelve month work week.
