Engineer

Akkodis is seeking an Engineer for a Contract with a client in Secaucus, NJ. Candidate must have strong expertise in enterprise and datacenter networking with the capability to architect, deploy, and optimize highperformance network infrastructures. Rate Range: $34/hour to $37/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. Engineer job responsibilities include: Architecting lowlatency, highavailability network designs (leafspine, VXLAN/EVPN, BGP) with redundancy and capacity growth in mind. Deploying and operating frontside, backend, and management networks in onprem data centers, including new buildouts and upgrades. Optimizing network performance by tuning RDMA and minimizing latency, packet loss, and jitter across missioncritical platforms. Troubleshooting complex issues endtoend, coordinating with vendors (e.g., Cisco, Arista, Palo Alto, AMD/Pensando) and internal stakeholders for rootcause resolution. Automating network tasks with Python/Ansible and maintaining accurate documentation (diagrams, cabling schedules, DCIM, inventories). Enabling L1 onsite teams through training, while providing L2 oncall incident response and proactive health monitoring across global sites. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, network engineering, or a related technical discipline. 6 years of handson experience supporting enterprise and/or cloud network infrastructure. Candidate must have strong capability in datacenter networking, including VXLAN/EVPN, BGP, leafspine architecture, and handson experience with Cisco and Arista technologies. Candidate must have proven expertise in network automation using Python/Ansible and the ability to perform advanced troubleshooting while supporting critical, highavailability environments.
