Subsidiary Aluminum Dynamics Overview Aluminum Dynamics is building North America's most advanced flat-rolled aluminum mill, designed to produce 650,000 metric tons annually of high-quality aluminum sheet for automotive, can, and industrial markets. Our success depends on seamless coordination between commercial demand, production capability, and supply chain execution. The Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) Analyst plays a critical role in synchronizing these functions to ensure we deliver safely, reliably, and profitably to our customers. ResponsibilitiesJob Duties/Responsibilities: Analyze demand forecasts, shipment history, production capacity, and supply chain constraints Develop statistical and driver-based forecasts by alloy, gauge, product family, and customer Build and evaluate "what-if" scenarios (capacity, downtime, yield loss, mix changes, and demand shifts) Apply industrial engineering techniques to optimize flow, inventory, and throughput Identify risks and opportunities impacting service, inventory, and cost performance Coordinate the monthly S&OP cycle including Prepare executive-level reporting and decision support materials Drive alignment and consensus between commercial and operations stakeholders Develop and maintain KPIs and dashboards including Conduct root-cause analysis and recommend corrective actions Partner with Sales, Product Management, and Operations to validate demand assumptions Align demand plans with casting, hot mill, cold mill, and finishing capacity constraints Balance service, working capital, and cost objectives Support inventory strategy for WIP, coils, and finished goods Maintain and manage planning data within ERP/APS systems Develop dashboards using BI tools and databases Ensure master data accuracy (lead times, routings, capacities) Drive continuous improvement of planning tools, automation, and processes QualificationsRequired: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, Data Analytics, Engineering, or related field 3+ years of experience in Supply Chain, Demand Planning, Production Planning, or Data Analytics Experience in heavy manufacturing or industrial operations required Experience in metals, aluminum, steel, or flat-rolled manufacturing environments Advanced Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, modeling, Power Query, VBA a plus) Experience with ERP systems APS/S&OP platforms (Kinaxis, o9, Anaplan, or similar) BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or SQL Preferred: APICS CPIM or CSCP IBF CPF Lean / Six Sigma Strong cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder influence Excellent communication and presentation skills Analytical, structured problem-solving mindset Ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic, startup manufacturing environment Continuous improvement orientation Steel Dynamics, Inc., and all affiliated entities are equal opportunity employers.
