Title: Process Control Engineer IIILocation: Wilmington, North CarolinaOpenings: 1Work Model: Hybrid, in office 2 weeks per quarterJob Type: ContractDuration: 1 Year Rate: $88/hour (W2) + BenefitsHours: 40 hours/weekProject: Nuclear, Product DevelopmentPerform range of activities to design and development utilizing the MarkVIe DCS, CIMPLICITY HMI Development, and/or the Bosch Rexroth motor controller for both safety class and non-safety-related class systems in nuclear power plants. Deliverables include: hardware identification and testing, controls cabinet design, application programming or software design, simulation modeling, and a variety of internal and external project documentation. Work performed compliant with GEH QAP including associated procedures, work instructions, guides, etc. or Supplier's audited to be equivalent.This role has an associated important scope which is to participate in and support various types of systems software requirements management, design, programming, test, and documentation.Responsible: Competent as a practitioner in all aspects of control and monitoring systems comprised of power plant fluidic, mechanical, and electric systems with their associated rotating equipment including the application software, hardware, and data communications and networks. Solid understanding of diverse BOP systems as well as their interface to the prime energy source, power conversion, auxiliary systems, and Yard.Work inclusively in team led by Technical Project Engineer / Technical Lead (TPE/TL), Principal and Consulting Engineer, Engineering Manager, Project Engineers (PE), and Project Manager (PM) in design, development, validation, documentation, and commissioning of control system solutions.Coordinate with TPE/TL, PE, and PM as well as customer for design inputs, scope, engineering labor budget [Hours], and schedule management.Prepare key documentation such as; Design Input Request (DIR), System Design Descriptions (SDD), Input/Output (I/O) Lists, Logic Diagram (LD) or test plans, procedures, and reports, technical assessment, optioneering, or trade-off study reports, etc.Develop DCS hardware configurations and software applications using the approved design and requisition software based tools; ToolBoxST, ControlST, CIMPLICITY, ActivePoint UX HMI Library, etc.Interface with third party equipment using applicable data communication protocols [e.g.; OPC, HART, FFB, Modbus, Profibus, IEC].Provide leadership for assuring design execution in agreement with requirements, appropriate features and functions, robustness to diverse conditions, reliability, standards conformance, regulatory guidance, etc.Drive an Agile, LEAN, or FastWorks style approach and provide constructive inputs driving continuous improvement, deliverable quality, and productivity improvements. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Nuclear, Computer Science or Technology, Engineering, or equivalent technical degree with 7+ years industry related controls experience5 year experience with architecture, design, software programming, and implementation of DI&C, protection, and monitoring systems in nuclear power plant, fuel manufacturing, or test facilities.4 year experience with architecting, developing or preparing or writing, implementing, and using detailed and structured plans, procedures, work instructions, guides, templates, checklists, etc. for digital systems hardware and software development lifecycle for computer based safety instrumented systems (SIS) in the nuclear, power, process, marine, medical, pharmaceutical, aerospace, military, national energy laboratory, or related life safety related industries.4 year experience with diverse digital computer based systems hardware and software technology stacks such asSoftware; real time operating systems (RTOS), drivers or utilities, application specific programs realized in custom software, firmware, or blockware, andTools; compliers, programming language specific code convention or standards checkers, cyber security scanners, or configurators.4 year experience with various digital safety systems architectures used to define a specific implementing platform from an OEM - GE MarkVIe / GE MarkVIeS and CIMPLICITY preferred4 year experience using Microsoft Office including Visio at an expert level.3 year experience with technical writing with focus on plans, procedure, and guides as well as requirements and design specifications.Strong analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills in a complex environment.Excellent communication, documentation, and presentation skills, written, graphical, and verbal.Strong interpersonal skills, collaborative mindset, and ability to work in a creative, diverse, dynamic team environment.
