Position Type: Administration Date Posted: 2/27/2026 Location: Bryan Middle School/High School Bryan City Schools MS/HS (Grades 6-12) Director of Special Education Start Date: 08/01/2026 POSITION SUMMARY: The function of the MS/HS (Grades 6-12) Director of Special Education is to provide, within legal and professional standards, an organizational framework in which efficient and appropriate special education programs can be delivered to students with exceptional educational needs. Duties & Responsibilities -assume leadership role in building -direct personnel, for the purpose of delivering special education services, to conform with established Federal, State and Local guidelines -coordinate and attend parent meetings (IEP, ETR, 504 Plans, Transition) with teachers, specialist, and parents -be knowledgeable and up-to-date with state laws and mandates that impact special education of school age students -work collaboratively with building and district administrators -assist with teacher and classified evaluations -communicate effectively with teachers, parents and community -collaborate with special education teachers for the purpose of implementing and maintaining services and/or special education programs -coordinate with outside agencies to provide services to students and staff, for the purpose of offering appropriate services -assist in the training of new teachers with IEP program -work cooperatively with building administrators and district administrators to resolve issues and ensure the effective and efficient provision of special education programs and services -perform other such duties in fulfillment of the general responsibility as may be desirable and necessary The successful candidate should hold, or be able to obtain, an Ohio administrative license for grades 6-12 and have background experience in special education services.NOTE - All internal applicants interested in this position should apply no later than Wednesday, March 4, 2026.Posting will remain open until filled.
