Bargaining Unit: EA Rate of Pay: $22.78/hour + DOE Summary Performs scanning and electronic indexing of patient medical records into various Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesProficient in the scanning and indexing systems in the outpatient clinics, Cancer Center and other areas as required. Maintains an organizational system ensuring timely completion of scanning. Prioritizes work based concept of first-in, first-out, unless otherwise directed. Scans file packets into imaging system. Matches corresponding paperwork to patient records and applies appropriate patient identifiers. Assures quality of images and data scanned. Ensures that reports have been reviewed and signed by providers prior to scanning. Utilizes standardized indexing guidelines. Identifies misfiled documentation and promptly corrects errors. Troubleshoots and reports hardware and software issues to appropriate parties. Trains other scanning/indexing staff as needed, for workflows specific to the clinics. Participates in quality assurance activities Maintains patient confidentiality at all times. Demonstrates System Values in performance and behavior. Complies with System policies and procedures. Minimum Education/Experience No educational requirement or 6 months to 1 year relevant experience Required Licenses/Certifications None Other Experience/QualificationsExperience reading and understanding medical records is strongly preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, as well as familiarity with medical documents and medical chart components.
