A challenging opportunity is available for a Registered Respiratory Therapist to provide advanced respiratory care in a dynamic hospital environment. This contract role offers 12-hour evening shifts every other weekend and on holidays, tailored for professionals with critical care expertise seeking to apply their skills within a bustling healthcare setting. Position Responsibilities: Deliver invasive and non-invasive respiratory therapies under general supervision. Evaluate cardiopulmonary function and implement treatments to address impairments. Provide comprehensive care including intubation, extubation, airway management, and arterial blood gas collection. Collaborate effectively with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes. Serve a patient population spanning neonates to geriatrics in ICU, emergency, stepdown, and medical-surgical units. Qualifications & Desired Experience: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential, with maintenance of active state licensure. Minimum of 2 years' RT experience with a strong preference for candidates with more extensive critical care background. Proficiency in Epic electronic medical records. Able to perform arterial blood gases (ABGs). Current BLS, ACLS, and RRT certifications required. Experience with intubations highly preferred. No neonatal or pediatric care required. Strong knowledge of respiratory care pharmacology and ventilator management. Additional Details: This role is based in a 150-bed hospital featuring a 17-bed ICU and a busy ED. Local candidates accepted with a slight pay adjustment. Manager review of clinical profile may influence offer timing.
