Scope of Responsibility: Under the supervision and direction of the plant superintendent, this position is responsible for assisting with the planning, coordinating and reviewing of all activities related to company goals involving production planning and scheduling to satisfy all customer requirements and company objectives. Essential Duties: Provide timely, accurate, and candid information on critical issues to management, colleagues, and team members as appropriate. Leads by example fostering teamwork, sound business decisions and fairness within the Sabre organization. Update and maintain 3rd party schedule. Track the status of 3rd party flow ensuring production has what is needed to produce and meet OTD's by visually inspect material for proper venting and draining and any extra task needing to be performed. Notify supervision and production when permission has been granted to perform extra tasks after customer has given approval. Maintains employee performance through the proper use and administration of the organization's recognition, feedback and discipline processes to ensure efficient department operations. Alert sales & supervisor and making sure customer is informed of any issues that may cause delays, or extra charges. (Ensure extra charges are noted on paperwork). Create run tickets for production, communicating priorities to supervisors to ensure we meet OTD's. Keep an open line of communication with sales team and manager on upcoming and existing projects. Schedule and ensure execution in any miscellaneous jobs requested by leadership Research/resolve conflicts with month end packs by the PM's Using independent judgement, schedules all incoming customer sales orders while monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on any deviations concerning lead times and productions rates. Exercise discretion in logically and accurately scheduling all finished goods and components through all phases of the galvanizing areas for both long-range and short-range production plans. Develop and maintain Planning Schedule, long and short-range production plans, long and short-range capacity requirements and provides liaison support between supervisor and office personnel. Ensure on-time shipments of all customer orders as required by collaborating with customer, sales department and SG supervisor. Maintain accurate and precise constraint schedules to guarantee the highest level of throughput is realized. Prompt resolution of Change Notices, damaged and/or lost parts, customer improvement requests, and reschedules of the galvanizer loads as required. Communicate this information to the appropriate shop supervisors effectively and thoroughly. Communicate one-on-one with subordinates to keep them informed of their progress and/or opportunities for improvement. Actively seek and support continuous improvement activities in process efficiencies, costs and effectiveness of work Maintain authorized staffing levels. When vacancies occur, initiate appropriate documents to get positions filled through internal postings and/or outside hiring. Interview candidates and, within prescribed guidelines, select candidate recommended for each position. Additional duties as assigned by Supervisor and/or Management. Position Requirements: Basic knowledge in reading blue prints preferred High School Diploma or GED Equivalent preferred Ability to do basic math: addition, subtraction, multiplication & division, with both fractions and decimals required Previous experience as an ERP/MRP Scheduler preferred Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office application required Basic understanding of procedures pertaining to Scheduling, Purchasing and Inventory Control preferred Prior Tubular Structure experience highly preferred Prior leadership experience in a manufacturing facility highly preferred Regular and timely attendance is required Demonstrated ability to work with frequent interruptions in workflow and constantly changing priorities. Must be able to maintain a positive and motivational attitude at all times Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand Ability to plan, organize, pay attention to details and multi-task in a fast-paced work environment Excellent written and oral communications skills required Must work with minimum supervision and with all levels of employees, supervisors and managers. Possess the intuitive ability to design procedures and systems to assist all other areas in support of the System Constraint. Physical Requirements: Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time with the ability to move throughout the office or outside manufacturing plant as needed. Must be able to perform physical activities that require use of fingers, hands and arms, such as sitting, typing, using office equipment and reaching. Some additional physical activities may require walking, stooping, bending, twisting and handling of materials. Position requires manual dexterity, arm-hand steadiness and a safety-minded individual. Must have the ability to concentrate on tasks for long periods of time and be able to observe and receive information from all relevant sources. Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing as well as answer telephones and greet customers.
