BUS DRIVER Hourly wage $23.57-25.14 with benefits, wage negotiable based on experience Sign-on bonus $750 for non-certified drivers / $1250 for certified drivers Retention bonus up to $1250 REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Must have an excellent driving record. Must be able to pass a criminal background check, DOT physical and pre-employment drug screen. Must have or be able to obtain a CDL Group B with air brake and P/S endorsements - paid training available. Must have passed or be able to pass MDE Beginning Bus Driver Class. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to communicate clearly with students, parents, staff, and the public. Ability to read and interpret driving directions and a map. Establish and maintain proper conduct of passengers on a school bus. Knowledge of the proper application of first aid practices and procedures. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Safely and efficiently transport students assigned in accordance with the law, state, and district regulations. Shall always demonstrate safe driving habits and use extreme caution while operating a school bus. Perform and document required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections. Report needed vehicle repair or maintenance to the Fleet Mechanic immediately. Perform emergency evacuation drills. Maintain a clean and safe environment within the bus. Attend meetings, programs, and in-service training as assigned. Perform other related duties as assigned. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be physically, mentally, and emotionally qualified to operate a school bus and evacuate children from a school bus in the event of an emergency. Sufficient strength and agility. Excellent hearing and vision capabilities. Able to endure and work in all kinds of weather.
