Providing specialized respiratory care, this position involves delivering intensive respiratory treatments and patient transport services with minimal supervision and within the license scope. The role requires thorough evaluation of patients to recommend appropriate treatment plans and educating patients on procedures and home care upon discharge. Key Responsibilities: Administer physician-prescribed respiratory treatments, including invasive and non-invasive ventilation, oxygen therapy, aerosol and nebulizer treatments. Conduct chest physiotherapy and perform suctioning using oropharyngeal, nasal, and tracheal methods. Monitor patients using oximetry, capnography, chest x-rays review, and perform 12-Lead EKG with arrhythmia recognition. Perform pulmonary function studies and assist with bronchoscopy, chest tube placement, tracheostomy care, and arterial puncture. Operate and maintain ventilatory equipment, ensure proper set-up, testing, and facilitate repairs or maintenance. Maintain detailed treatment records and communicate effectively with physicians and shift personnel. Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) according to BLS and ACLS guidelines. Adhere to laboratory testing policies when applicable, including specimen handling, quality control, and documentation.
