Job Details Location: Charleston, SC 29406 - Charleston surgical technologist jobs / travel surgical tech in South Carolina Assignment Length: 13 weeks (travel assignment) Start Date: February 23, 2026 End Date: May 25, 2026 Shift: 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM (10-hour days) Hours per Week: 40 Setting: Cardiac OR and Main OR at a 313-bed community hospital and Level II Trauma Center Position Type: On-site Travel Surgical Technologist / OR Tech Compensation Estimated Weekly Pay: $1920 - $2060 per week Qualifications / Job Requirements Minimum 2 years recent Surgical Technologist experience with required cardiac OR experience Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Operating Room Technician (ORT) certification Current BLS (American Heart Association) required Experience with robotic-assisted surgery (da Vinci XI), Mako joint robot, and advanced spine systems preferred Familiarity with Meditech documentation system preferred Available to work every other weekend and scheduled holidays in rotation Strong perioperative skills in sterile technique, case setup, instrumentation, and teamwork Responsibilities Provide perioperative support across Cardiac OR and Main OR: general, trauma, orthopedic, neuro, plastics, vascular, urology, GYN, and robotic cases Support complex thoracic and vascular procedures including AAA repairs, valve replacements, CABG, bypass, angiography, and stent procedures Set up and troubleshoot advanced surgical equipment (robotic systems, arthroplasty instruments, spine sets) and maintain sterile field Ensure correct patient positioning, prep, draping, and case facilitation in accordance with hospital policies Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members including RNs, anesthesia providers, and turnover staff for efficient OR flow Accurately document procedures and patient information in Meditech or other electronic health record systems Adhere to infection control, safety protocols, and perioperative best practices Why You'll Love Charleston, SC (29406) Charleston combines southern hospitality, historic charm, and coastal living.
