Snapshot / Role Overview We're seeking an HVAC Controls Building Systems Specialist in Phoenix, AZ to provide advanced technical support and system optimization for complex building automation installations. Impact • Maximize building performance and energy efficiency through expert controls optimization • Support successful project delivery with technical expertise and system integration skills • Resolve complex technical challenges that ensure client satisfaction • Mentor junior technicians and elevate team technical capabilities Responsibilities • Lead programming and commissioning of enterprise-level building automation systems • Design and implement advanced control strategies for complex HVAC applications • Integrate multiple systems including BAS, lighting controls, security, and fire alarm • Perform detailed system analysis and develop optimization recommendations • Support sales and engineering teams with technical expertise during preconstruction • Troubleshoot and resolve escalated technical issues • Develop standards, templates, and best practices for controls installations • Provide technical training to internal staff and client personnel Requirements Must-Haves • 5+ years of building automation systems experience • Advanced programming skills in multiple platforms (Niagara, Distech, Siemens, Johnson Controls) • Deep understanding of HVAC systems, sequences of operation, and energy management • Experience with system integration and enterprise-level BAS architecture • Strong project leadership and client communication skills • Bachelor's degree or equivalent technical training preferred Nice-to-Haves • Multiple manufacturer certifications (Tridium, Distech, Siemens, JCI) • LEED AP or CEM (Certified Energy Manager) credential • Experience with analytics platforms and fault detection diagnostics • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices for building systems Compensation & Logistics Competitive salary depending on experience; benefits include health insurance, dental and vision coverage, 401(k) with company match, PTO, paid holidays, company vehicle, continuing education support, and performance bonuses.
