What You'll Do: As a MICU Registered Nurse, you will deliver top-tier nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with complex medical conditions, including oncologic emergencies, COPD, pneumonia, ARDS, sepsis, and more. Your role includes managing ventilators, IV starts, complex medication administration, and specialized procedures such as pulmonary artery catheter placement and CRRT. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, monitor patient progress, and ensure the highest standards of safety and comfort. Required Skills: Valid Kansas RN license or multi-state license as applicable Minimum of 2 years of recent MICU experience Proficiency in ventilator management and IV initiation Strong knowledge of complex patient care, including hemodynamically compromised patients Experience with computerized charting systems, specifically EPIC Current ACLS, BLS, and NIH certifications Excellent critical thinking, communication, and team collaboration skills Nice to Have Skills: Experience with clinical trials or plasmapheresis Prior exposure to pulmonology or gastrointestinal procedures Additional certifications related to critical care or specialized procedures Preferred Education and Experience: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred At least two years of recent ICU experience, with previous MICU exposure highly desirable Other Requirements: Availability to work night shifts (19:00 - 07:30), 3 days per week for 12-hour shifts Ability to adapt to rotating schedules, which include days, nights, or a combination, based on departmental needs Willingness to travel if applicable; travel and licensure reimbursements provided Commitment to maintaining compliance with all healthcare regulations and standards Compensation and Benefits: Hourly Pay Rate: $59.18 Competitive pay packages and weekly direct deposit payments Comprehensive medical benefits (W-2) Robust referral bonus program Paid sick leave per applicable laws Licensure, certification, travel, and other reimbursements when applicable 24/7 dedicated support team committed to your success throughout your assignment with VHS Seize this opportunity to elevate your nursing career by providing vital care in a fast-paced, rewarding environment.
