SAP Basis Administrator / SAP Technical LeadLocation: Austin, TX Type: Contract Role Overview We are seeking an experienced SAP Basis Administrator / Technical Lead responsible for the availability, performance, scalability, and reliability of SAP systems. The role involves system landscape management, upgrades, patches, and technical troubleshooting, along with ensuring secure, optimized SAP environments. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in SAP Basis, upgrades, backup/recovery strategies, and system performance tuning. Key Responsibilities Own the landscape management, availability, and performance of all SAP systems. Maintain comprehensive documentation for SAP landscapes, configurations, and operating procedures. Coordinate with cross-functional teams for installation, maintenance, and upgrades of SAP systems. Provide technical support for SAP systems across the entire project lifecycle. Plan and execute upgrades/patches to ensure systems remain secure and up-to-date. Implement and manage backup & recovery strategies to minimize data loss and downtime. Deliver technical upgrades, functional and technical enhancements. Troubleshoot issues related to connectivity, web services, and integration points. Continuously optimize system performance, scalability, and reliability. Collaborate with Project Managers, Operations teams, and service providers to ensure smooth delivery. Actively drive a culture of continuous improvement within the SAP team. Required Skills & Experience Strong experience in SAP Basis administration (system landscape, performance tuning, upgrades, patches). Proven expertise in system monitoring, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis. Hands-on knowledge of SAP system installations, migrations, and integrations. Solid experience with backup and recovery planning & execution. Strong understanding of connectivity, web services, and SAP technical architecture. Ability to work cross-functionally and collaborate with technical & functional teams. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
