The Pines at Placerville 1040 Marshall Way, Placerville, CA 95667 The Pines at Placerville is seeking a passionate, self-motivated Medical Records Director to join our supportive and collaborative skilled nursing team on a full-time interim/temporary basis. This role is ideal for an organized professional who takes pride in accuracy, confidentiality, and teamwork—and is looking for room to grow. This role partners closely with clinical and administrative teams to support timely documentation, survey readiness, and the overall integrity of health information within our skilled nursing facility. Key Responsibilities Manage the creation, maintenance, and secure storage of resident medical records Ensure timely and accurate documentation for admissions, discharges, transfers, and clinical updates Monitor record completion and regulatory compliance Collaborate with nursing, therapy, and administrative teams to support documentation needs Handle medical record requests from residents, families, legal representatives, and outside providers Oversee EHR systems and resolve documentation issues Prepare reports, audits, and support survey readiness Maintain strict confidentiality of all resident health information Train and supervise medical records staff, if applicable Qualifications Associate or Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management preferred RHIT or similar certification preferred Minimum of 2 years of medical records or health information experience (long-term care preferred) Strong knowledge of HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid, and SNF regulations Proficiency with EHR systems and Microsoft Office Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Work Environment & Physical Requirements Primarily office-based with frequent sitting, typing, and document review Occasional walking, standing, and lifting up to 25 lbs Low to moderate noise level Ability to maintain focus and discretion while handling confidential information If you're a detail-driven professional who values teamwork and wants to make a meaningful impact in a skilled nursing setting, we'd love to hear from you.
