Position Type: Administration/Supervisor Date Posted: 2/23/2026 Location: Special Education Job Description Special Education Supervisor Conway Public School DistrictQualifications: Minimum of a Master's Degree in Special Education or an equivalent Master's Degree Arkansas Department of Education Teacher License for Special Education Supervisor Teaching experience Reports to: Director of special education and federal programs Supervises: Assists building level administrator in supervision of special education personnel, as needed. Terms of Employment: The contract length will be 240 days. Evaluation: Based on local district policy and Arkansas Department of Education guidelines, and performed by the director of special education and federal programs. Job Goal: The Special Education Supervisor will endeavor to ensure that all students with disabilities or those suspected of being disabled are provided with a quality, free, and appropriate public education in compliance with state and federal guidelines. Performance Responsibilities: Follows and maintains knowledge of all District policies and procedures. Follows and maintains knowledge of the Arkansas Department of Education Eligibility Criteria and Program Guidelines for Students with Disabilities, Ages 3-21. Follows and maintains knowledge of the Arkansas Department of Education Procedural Requirements and Program Standards, with specific attention to Procedural Requirements. Supervises and monitors the operation of District programs for students with disabilities to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal policies, guidelines, regulations, and laws. Assists the director of special education and federal programs in the development and implementation of the District plan for Special Education. Assists in the development of District goals and curricular objectives for Special Education programs and in implementing a program for curriculum development and improvement of instruction. Ensures that programs for students with disabilities are coordinated between grades and schools. Conducts classroom visitations and observations. Provides consultation services to parents, teachers, administrators, and others, as needed. Assists in the development and implementation of in-service programs for Special Education. Assists in the evaluation of performance of Special Education instructional and non-instructional personnel. Works cooperatively with principals to improve curriculum and to assist in the resolution of concerns associated with Special Education. Keeps the director of special education and federal programs informed about the District's Special Education programs. Other duties, as assigned.
