Job Summary and Qualifications The Radiology Technologist Specialist conducts radiographic procedures in line with ARRT standards and practices. This role entails knowledge of human anatomy, patient care, positioning techniques, radiation safety, and specialized procedures while adhering to ethical principles and healthcare values. Responsibilities Execute all diagnostic radiographic procedures, including emergency, surgical, fluoroscopic, and portable radiographs. Operate radiography equipment and associated tools effectively. Interpret and implement orders from referring physicians. Ensure compliance with radiation protection guidelines. Assist in procedures requiring sterile technique. Prepare and administer contrast media as needed. Evaluate patients’ conditions before and during procedures. Deliver optimal patient care during examinations. Document and validate patients' clinical histories with procedures. Perform additional department-related tasks as necessary. Carry out minor repairs on equipment and report issues clearly to the supervisor. Qualifications: Education: Graduate of an AMA-approved Radiologic Technology program or equivalent for Texas certification. Experience: Entry-level Radiologic Technologists may be considered based on shift requirements and responsibilities. Licenses and Certifications: Certified or temporarily certified by Texas Department of State Health Services; ARRT (R) certified or eligible, with a commitment to achieve certification within 12 months of hire; Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required within 30 days of employment start date.
