Job Description We are looking for an Assistant Controller to work for our client. The ideal candidate aligns with the responsibilities and qualifications outlined below. Our client is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to support corporate accounting operations, financial reporting, controls, and process improvement initiatives. This hybrid role in Cleveland, OH offers strong collaboration with leadership and the opportunity to help modernize and scale financial processes in a growing organization. Responsibilities Support the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. Oversee general ledger integrity, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statement preparation. Supervise and mentor accounting staff; review work for accuracy, compliance, and timeliness. Maintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and documentation. Assist with audit preparation and serve as a liaison with external auditors. Oversee AP/AR, fixed assets, cash management, and balance sheet schedules. Lead or support process improvements, system enhancements, and automation efforts. Partner with FP&A, operations, and leadership to provide insights and support strategic initiatives. Support tax filings, compliance activities, and special projects as needed. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally with some leadership or supervisory responsibilities. Strong understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting. Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar. Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with large data sets. Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work onsite part-time in a hybrid Cleveland environment.
