About the Position: Join our dedicated team as a Pharmacy Technician Associate, where you'll play a crucial role in patient care under the supervision of a pharmacist. In this position, you'll be responsible for preparing and dispensing medications, managing automated dispensing machines, and ensuring the safe handling of pharmaceuticals. Key Responsibilities: Follow safe medication dispensing practices as outlined by regulatory and advisory groups, reporting any medication occurrences in compliance with internal protocols. Assist pharmacists in gathering patient-specific information to facilitate safe medication management and actively participate in team communications. Maintain proper storage of medications according to hospital policies, ensuring they meet stability and safety standards. Efficiently prepare and package all medications, including hazardous and sterile products, labeling them correctly for safe administration. Assist with the selection and procurement of medications, following departmental guidelines and being aware of formulary processes. Control and secure all substances to prevent diversion, adhering to legal regulations regarding unused and returned medications. Transport medications promptly to patient care units, following established standards for delivery times. Qualifications: Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Preferred: Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician training program. Experience: Preferred: Minimum of 6 months experience as a pharmacy technician, specifically in a hospital environment. Licenses and Certifications: Required: Registered Pharmacy Technician through the Board of Pharmacy. Required: Certification from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) within 180 days of employment. This position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from USD $19.55 - USD $34.25.
