Job Description

We're seeking a detail-oriented Healthcare Estimator to support the preparation of accurate, competitive project estimates for healthcare construction and technology installations. In this role, you'll review drawings and specifications, assist with takeoffs, participate in site visits, and help build proposals that support successful project delivery. This is a great opportunity for someone with construction, low-voltage, fire/life safety, or estimating experience who wants to grow their career in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. What You'll Do Review project drawings, specifications, and bid documents to understand scope and requirements Prepare quantity takeoffs and assist in building accurate project estimates and proposals Participate in site visits to gather field information and support bid development Identify questions, clarifications, or potential risks and help develop RFIs as needed Collaborate with Project Managers, Account Executives, vendors, and internal teams to develop competitive bids Help organize project documentation including blueprints, specifications, and related materials Track assigned tasks and deadlines using company systems and maintain timely communication with internal and external partners Build positive working relationships with vendors, contractors, and customers Skills and Responsibilities Experience in construction, estimating, low-voltage systems, fire/life safety, or a related field Ability to read or learn to read construction drawings and specifications Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills Comfortable working with Microsoft Office tools (especially Outlook and Excel) Problem-solving mindset with good communication skills Customer-focused and collaborative approach Prior estimating or sales support experience Exposure to healthcare construction projects or regulated environments Familiarity with building codes, tenant improvements, or new construction NICET certification, Fire/Life Safety certification, or construction-related education Degree in Engineering, Construction Science, or related field Physical Demands and Work Environment Ability to drive for 2+ hours in a work shift/day, daily Ability to walk, bend, stoop, hear, and speak, daily Stand or Sit for long periods (4+ hours), daily Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments, under all temperature variations Ability to make repetitive movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers, daily Work environment may be construction sites, commercial properties, and/or high-rise buildings Move/Transport items weighing 20+ pounds, occasionally At TRL Systems, we've been keeping people and their property safe for over 42 years.
